Lis pendens record, 1915- .

Each person, corporation, or governmental body that commences a civil action or proceeding against any land must file a notice that gives information to potential buyers of pending action. This notice is filed in the Lis Pendens Record in each county that the land lies within (see Ala. Code, 35-4-130 through 35-4-139 [1975]). The series consists of transcriptions of the notice and includes the names of all parties to the action, a description of the real estate, persons named as having an interest in the land, and a brief statement of the nature of the lien, writ application or action sought to be enforced. This record began in 1915 and continues to the present.
